Sometimes I share graphic images of narco violence—not to shock, but to confront. The brutality is real, out in the open, and often ignored. This violence exposes a failure: the lack of serious intervention against cartels. We can't look away.

I tweeted that after posting photos of a man’s remains dumped in bags off the Acapulco-Mexico federal highway—along with a cardboard “narcomensaje” threatening Omar García Harfuch, Mexico’s former security chief and current political heavyweight. Twitter locked my account for it. Not for disinformation. Not for hate speech. But for showing the truth.

Because the truth is this: Mexico is being dismantled, one body part at a time. And the cartel war—led by groups like the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG)—is no longer waged in backrooms or on the dark web. It’s happening in daylight. On federal roads. In WhatsApp groups. And on your feed.

WARNING: This story includes extremely graphic images.
