Inside Mexico’s Hidden Crematorium: The CJNG’s Extermination Camp in Jalisco
Authorities uncovered approximately 400 pairs of shoes, heaps of clothing, handbags, backpacks, and goodbye letters scattered across the property—personal belongings likely tied to the victims.
In the quiet town of Teuchitlán, Jalisco, a gruesome discovery has exposed the brutal reality of cartel violence. Members of the Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco, a collective of relatives searching for their missing loved ones, uncovered a clandestine crematorium on the Izaguirre Ranch. This site offers a stark look into the Jalisco New Generation Cartel’s (CJNG) recruitment and extermination tactics and the region’s deepening crisis of enforced disappearances.
Rancho Izaguirre, located in La Estanzuela, an hour from Guadalajara, had already drawn suspicion. In September 2024, authorities raided the property, arresting ten individuals, rescuing two kidnapping victims, and discovering a body. Investigators found rudimentary obstacle courses—evidence that CJNG used the ranch as a training ground. Yet, they failed to conduct a full search of the sprawling property.
Months later, an anonymous tip led Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco back to the site. The group announced on Facebook that they found the ranch completely open and abandoned. Their search uncovered three clandestine ovens, hidden under layers of earth and brick slabs, which had previously evaded detection.
The scene at Rancho Izaguirre speaks for itself. Investigators found approximately 400 pairs of shoes, heaps of clothing, handbags, backpacks, and suitcases—clear evidence that many victims passed through this place and never left.
Reports indicate that the victims' ages range between 20 and 25 years old.
